This is a stand alone sermon.
On August 26th, 2011 I got married. And while special, the ceremony took place just like numerous other weddings I had been to. It was an age old ritual we were following.
Easter Sunday is just another ritual in Christian tradition. People that don’t even go to church come to church on Easter because it’s ritual. It’s just another day that happens each year in which Christians celebrate Jesus rising from the dead and we go home and hide eggs and watch kids vomit their little chocolate guts up. And that’s it. There’s no weight behind it for most people. Sure it’s fun and it’s a celebration just like a wedding, but it’s something we’ve all been through and most know the story, right?
